The African Civilian Response Capacity for Peace Support Operations (AFDEM) supports peace support & humanitarian relief operations through the management of a roster of African civilians with professional expertise and skills suitable for peace support operations in Africa and beyond.

AFDEM is the only such civilian response capacity on the African continent and it bosts of 10 years experience in civilian roster management, having been established in 2000. It is funded by the Royal Norwegian Government and has its Head Office in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

AFCAP Civilian Capacity

AFCAP is a product of deliberations of the Bulawayo September 2010 Workshop which came up with the major recommendations of establishing a loose working group called the African Civilian Capacity (AFCAP).
